In March, it was: Cast off! Off to Melbourne. As GAC, we are part of the United Ocean Lines network. Within this network we have many worldwide partners with whom we organise transportation in cooperation. And in logistics this still counts: nothing can beat personal contacts. This is the reason our network organises a meeting with all its members once a year, and this year it took place in Melbourne.
The trip from Germany involved a 30-hour flight, which was, however, rewarded with a great meeting where there were many familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Apart from exchanges in one-on-one meetings, an evening dinner and a joint bike tour were on the agenda. This kind of cooperation is important so that—if need be—we always have direct contacts in other countries so that we can overcome any possible challenges that a transport might entail.
Before it was time to head home again, I explored the Great Ocean Road. If you are in Melbourne, I can definitely recommend doing this.
Next year, Vietnam is on the agenda; it will certainly be exciting too, and we will report about it here.
